This is a story of creation/dissolution. It’s a story about how things end and how they begin again. It’s a story inspired by Paradise Lost, but where the epic poem by Milton was set in the time before, our world represents a time to come.
In our story, Eve is our hero, our host, and our guide. She is the voice that leads us from one installation to the next. In this world, Eve is a profoundly solitary character, perhaps the last of humanity, perhaps the restart of it...
The HERO experience is staged across seven experiential zones built within 17,000 square feet of space at Rockefeller Center.
ZONE 01 - INITIATION
birth / genesis / inception
The initiation is about stepping from one reality and into the next. This is our genesis. The feeling we want to inspire is both visceral and elemental. Guests will step into an overwhelming video display matched with a bass-heavy spatial audio experience.
ZONE 02 - GARDEN
grounding / elemental
The earth is the story of humanity, of where we came from and where we will return to. This section is about the fall of man, the garden, and temptation. More than anything, this section is a story of time and time passing. Guests will explore mounds of indoor gardens, hidden spaces, secret nooks to sit within, all setting the scene for the main video piece: forbidden fruit.
ZONE 03 - FORBIDDEN FRUIT
eden / eternal paradise
This experience is one of temptation, of surrender, of being mesmerized. To lose oneself within the garden is the start of finding your own way. The audio is entrancing - the overhead video a hypnotic dance of light.
ZONE 04 - THE DARK
limbo / timeless / expanse
Our exploration of the dark seeks to capture the beauty, the power, and the elemental quality of the night. Guests will be invited to climb a netted sculpture, each pull and tug of the strands activating a sound and light installation, bringing flashes of color to the otherwise dark space.
ZONE 05 - THE LIGHT
weightless / electric / expanse
From the darkness, we are released into the light - a transitional space - an effervescent expanse of light, fog, sound, and room to play.
ZONE 06 - CHAOS
entropy / catharsis
Chaos is an elemental part of creation. It is how we reset and begin again. For our guests, this is the beginning of the return home. The lighting design and music leads into the ascension to come.
ZONE 07 - ASCENSION
